Voluntary Dodge Viper recall for April 2015

If you are the owner of a 2013 to 2014 Dodge Viper, then you may wish to know that it has now been included in a voluntary recall in the U.S. as well as Canada, Mexico and a few other countries. The reason these vehicles are being recalled is due to an issue with their door-handle assemblies.

Voluntary Dodge Viper recall for April 2015

Dodge is to recall 1,762 of these Viper models in all, which should begin in April 2015, although there is no news on exactly when they will begin the procedure this month. All we know is that Dodge is to start contacting affected owners very soon.

The decision for the recall was made after Dodge had received several complaints that the doors would not open or close while the vehicle was driven at low speeds.

It would seem the reason was due to the wrong sealant being used, which never offered a decent amount of protection from moisture, and so caused an issue with the electronic switches on the door latches.
