Specific date for two new GM recalls undecided

We are almost halfway through 2015 and General Motors has already had to issue several recalls, but the latest one involves just over half a million vehicles. However, while it has been announced in May, GM has yet to decided on a specific date as to when this campaign will start.

Specific date for two new GM recalls undecided

There are 521,817 vehicles affected in all, the first is the 2011-2012 Chevrolet Malibu. 468,887 units are to be recalled, with 437,045 of them being in the US alone. The reason being is because a steel cable that connects the belt to the seat can fatigue and so come away from each other.

In the second campaign this involves 52,930 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon models. It would seem that the seat frame attachment hooks were not installed, as they should have been.

Dealers already know what it is they need to do to rectify these issues, they just have to set the date. More details on these recalls can be found on Autoblog

If you have an affected model, then please share with us what the dealer had to say on our Chevrolet and GMC pages.
