Latest Nissan Altima recall fix yet to be determined

It would seem that Nissan has had to expand its recall for the Altima model to now include the 2014 and 2015 model year, which is already on top of the 2013 model. In all there are another 625,000 units being recalled.

The reason for the recall is due to an issue with the secondary hood latch, that in some cases may bind and then remain in the unlatched position, even if the hood is closed.

If this were to happen, then there is an increased risk of the hood flying open, which could cause the driver to crash.

As yet, there is no scheduled fix for this issue, although we are very certain that Nissan Altima owners will be very worried by now, and so we ask that you either contact Nissan on 1-800-647-7261 or visit the NHTSA.
