Kia Soul recall begins March 24, 2015

It was a few days ago that Kia announced that it was to recall its 2014-2015 Soul and Soul EV hatchbacks, and so we wanted to just remind you of that fact seeing as though the Kia Soul recall will begin on March 24, which is just 5 days away. This means you will have to make plans ready to do without your car for that day.

Kia Soul recall begins March 24, 2015

There are 209,000 of these Kia Soul models affected in all, which were built from July 21, 2013, to Jan. 8, 2015. The reason why the South Korean carmaker is recalling these vehicles is due to an issue with its accelerator pedal.

According to the NHTSA, there is a chance that the accelerator pedal could either bend or fracture, and if this were to happen, then there is an increased risk of becoming involved in a crash.

Thankfully, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries, but you should be very careful and contact your local Kia dealer to see if you have one of those affected models.

Kia is to install a rubber support on the component that sits below the pedal, which as you well know will be done free of charge. If you do have concerns, please feel free to call Kia on 800-333-4542.

We fully understand that you may have another issue with your Kia that you would like to share, and so we ask that you tell us your problems by heading to our dedicated Kia page.
