Delays with Jeep fix since recall announced

When Chrysler had finally launched a recall for its 2002 – 2007 Jeep Liberty due to a high risk if them bursting into flames in a rear-end accident, owners finally felt as though they were getting somewhere. However, it would seem that not all of those affected vehicles have been recalled to be fixed.

Delays with Jeep fix since recall announced

This is a rather serious issues because more than 70 people have died as a results of fires in older Jeep vehicles, something to do with the placement of their fuel tanks, as they are behind the rear axel, and so do not have as much protection if hit in the rear during an accident.

Chrysler maintains that its Jeeps are just as safe as other SUVs made at the time. However, what worries us as a video report found on Autoblog says there are delays in people having these hitches fitted since the recall was announced.

The company was told last year to speed up distribution of the hitches, which is the fix they proposed to offer some protected if rear-ended. Things are set to get a great deal tougher for Chrysler, especially as a lawsuit is set to be launched very soon against them. Has your Jeep been delayed in getting fixed, if so please share your views here.
