Awaiting Hyundai Genesis recall notification schedule

Earlier this month Hyundai had to issue a recall for its Elantra model because of an issue with the steering, and now the carmaker has issued yet another recall, this time for the Genesis. The reason behind this one is due to a problem with its electrical system.

Awaiting Hyundai Genesis recall notification schedule

24,400 Hyundai Genesis models are being recalled, which have the 2015 model year. Those affected were built from February 21, 2014, to January 24, 2015.

The reason for the fault is due to a possible issue that could see water leak into the rear light assemblies, in which case could result in the wrong gear display showing on the instrument panel, or even worse could delay the gears engaging.

If this were to happen, then this could pose a safety risk, because the wrong gear showing could cause the vehicle to move in the wrong direction, increasing the risk of an accident.

Hyundai said they will contact owners, where they will apply pads to a certain parts of the car as to stop water from leaking. They have yet to offer a notification schedule, and so we ask that you either contact Hyundai on 1-855-671-3059 or head over to the NHTSA website for more details.
