Additional Honda recalls for Pilot, Civic and Accord

If you thought the Takata airbag recalls were behind us, then you would be very wrong, as they are still coming in thick and fast. Honda has now issued additional recalls for three of its models, although some of its older ones.

Additional Honda recalls for Pilot, Civic and Accord

The models in question are the 2008 Pilot, 2004 Civic and the 2001 Accord. There are more than 100,000 vehicles affected by this fresh recall, which are 88,549, 10,868 and 5,454 respectively due to their passenger airbag inflators.

Honda only came across these models thanks to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and its documents they submitted. However, Honda had to do the hard work by going though Takata part numbers and then matching them to the cars VINs.

With this latest recall that means the total number of vehicles Honda has had to recall due to these airbag issues are 5.5 million, which is a huge number. The sad thing is, we still think there are more to come.

Have you been affected by this airbag recall, if so please share your concerns on our Honda page.
