2012 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid recall over fuel leak

There is a chance that some of these models could suffer from a possible fuel leak, which in turn could lead to a fire risk. It is for this reason why there is a great importance for Volkswagen to act on this quick, and for owners to acknowledge any correspondence.

It would seem that are faulty components in the fuel injection system was used when being manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany. The NHTSA reports that general road conditions could lead to excessive wear on the fuel fails and seals due to vibration, and becomes more of an issue if you tend to drive on rougher road surfaces.

If fuel was to leak, then it is highly likely that a fire would follow, and so you need to make certain your vehicle is not affected by this recall. We would advise that you stop driving your 2012 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, just until you know for certain.

Other models affected by this problem are the 2012 Audi A6, 2012-2013 Audi A7 and the 2011-2012 Audi S4, S5 and Q5. Owners will start to receive recall notices no later than March 10th, although if you are worried please call Volkswagen on 800-893-5298 or Audi on 800-822-2834.
