2009 Nissan Altima recall demanded

The annoying thing is the fact that this problem occurs when the car has run out of warranty, and so the owner has to pay to put the issue right themselves.

What is also annoying is how these owners have to wait several weeks for the issue to be resolved because the part being on back-order, which is silly seeing as though this is a common problem, and so Nissan should already have plenty of these parts to hand.

When the issue first started it would cost around $800 for the faulty part on the steering mechanism to be replaced. However, we now know this part and labor to be costing around $1,300, which is a huge jump in two years.

The confusing thing is the fact that this is now a known and common problem, yet Nissan has not recalled the 2009 Nissan Altima, and a quick search on the NHTSA database shows that there has been no investigation either.
